Located just blocks away from Oude Kerk, the city’s oldest church, the area offers an array of hedonistic highlights. Prostitution is legal in the Netherlands, and sex workers advertise their wares from inside red-lit cabin windows along the street. Live sex shows, head shops, a sex museum, night clubs and other party spots await visitors. But the district saw major changes in 2007. Concerned about an uptick in criminal activity, Amsterdam’s City Council closed down 51 of the district’s prostitution windows.]]></description>

All of that aside, the only reason why you really want to visit it is for the spectacular views over Paris, especially at sunset.]]></description>
